FiOS1 News in Rye Brook, NY is currently seeking an individual with significant broadcast news producing and management experience to join our dynamic team as Executive Producer (EP)
The winning candidate will have news producing experience and possess a passion for News and will thrive in a fast-paced, highly competitive, deadline-driven environment. S/he will possess excellent writing skills and will have news producing (line) experience. The EP must be proficient in supervising a team and capable of effectively communicating with upper management and department heads.
Responsibilities:
Supervise writing, plan story selection, graphics selection, editing, production and execution of daily newscasts and special programming. Coach and develop producers and other direct reports. Manage line producers and facilitate producer schedules. Take full responsibility for execution of assigned newscasts as well as other special assignments. Monitor competition and industry trends with particular emphasis on new media such as social networking and innovative newsgathering techniques and equipment.
Requirements:
• At least 5 years of EP experience
• College degree in journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent management skills and experience supervising and managing a team
• Strong communication and conflict management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Excellent editorial judgment and strong writing skills
• Able to work early morning shift and occasional weekends

News 12 Networks, owned and operated by Cablevision Systems Corporation, is a cable exclusive service, reaching approximately 3.8 million households in the New York market.
News 12 Long Island has an opportunity for someone looking for an entry-level television graphics position. The person will use programs including After Effects, VIZrt, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, and 3D Studio Max to create vibrant, elegant and intelligent graphics & opens for pre-production, post-production and live newscasts at News 12 Long Island. In collaboration with producers, writers, and other designers, create over-the-shoulder, banner, monitor and full screen graphics for all newscasts. In addition, create opens, transitions, promotional elements, weather graphics and miscellaneous graphic elements for all News 12 productions. Assist with virtual set design, create support materials for marketing and sales as well as operate, maintain and upgrade graphic equipment, software, computers and other equipment. Attend planning meetings and organize graphic strategies for upcoming assignments. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Coordinate team efforts on animations, opens, etc. in the absence of a supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree or equivalent as well as experience in graphic arts for television. Must have knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects, VIZrt, Maya, and 3D Studio Max. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Illustrator a plus. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional artistic ability, have a thorough knowledge of computer graphics equipment and techniques and possess excellent spelling skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is required. A strong knowledge of local communities, issues and newsmakers a plus.

News 12 Long Island is seeking the right individual to shoot and/or edit video and/or operate live-transmission vehicles for news programs, live coverage, breaking news and other productions and promotions for all News 12 Services. Will work independently or as part of a team to create pictures and sound which accurately and fairly represent the news, recording raw video and audio and turning it into finished product, or shooting live action suitable for distribution of the News 12 services. Accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, editors and peripheral gear, initiating repairs when necessary. Position will be responsible for editing video and audio material for distribution of the News 12 services, including segments or entire programs. Will drive news vehicles and/or live-transmission vehicles and operate production and transmission equipment. Candidate will coordinate playback of edited material, assist in training co-workers, participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in a television field production area. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. Should have basic knowledge of production equipment and computers as well as knowledge of news operations and practices. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. A flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as well as a valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
